Whilst some of their classmates had travelled to Oman these five students got to spend two mornings with us here at Regatta Sailing Academy.

The students got to experience a number of different activities, from learning basic navigation and how to read and use a chart effectively, orienteering themselves around our beach blindfolded, paddle-boarding, team building games, raft building, Powerboating and of course sailing!
Under the watchful guidance of Coach Sam the students started off learning all about charts, how to read them, what the symbols meant and how to use one to ensure safe passage. Following this the students then used the knowledge they had just gained to plan a short trip and then had an opportunity to actually do their trip, exactly as they had drawn on the chart!

The final activity left for the students was catamaran sailing. Thankfully we saved the best til last with 20 knots blowing through the students were expecting a full speed blast and the sailing did not disappoint! From Katara to the Island in 20 minutes the sailors flew around West bay before making their way back to Regatta Sailing Academy in Katara.
