Adult Autumn Racing Series 2016

After 8 weeks of racing, the Regatta Sailing Academy Autumn adult racing series drew to a close last Friday.

With two races every week the 9 competitors had a total series of 16 races with four discards.

The Autumn series is traditionally a lighter wind series with the occasional stronger week of wind to keep things interesting and this series lived upto expectations.

Sailing an exceptional series to take the win overall was Arturo Carta who only counted 1st places in his overall series score of 12 points.

Charles Jones sailed a very consistent series to take second place with 24 points overall, a comfortable distance ahead of the fight for third which came down to the very last race with Chip Lowe pulling out the goods right when it mattered to take bronze from Frederic Rousseau.

With 7 different countries represented in the 9 boat fleet Regatta Sailing Academy is very proud of our truly international fleet.

Congratulations go to all the competitors, who under the expert guidance and race management of Sam Hancock competed fairly and with respect for the sport.

The winter series, which commences this weekend is traditionally a windier series so perhaps we may see a change of faces on the podium with the heavier wind specialists waiting for their turn to shine.
